As you can probably imagine, tomatoes are my favorite vegetable. Right now, my farmers’ markets are inundated with them: beefsteak tomatoes, Jersey tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, San Marzano tomatoes and Sungold cherry tomatoes, amongst other kinds. It’s a virtual orgy of tomatoes.
“Enjoy them while they last”, I tell my friends. In one short month, they’ll be gone until next year.

Yes: “Zone 10” doesn’t take kindly to tomatoes; it fries the flowers and there is no pollen.
